From every practical standpoint, both Euro 6 and the incoming Euro 7 diesel engines are plagued with ongoing operational and reliability issues. The heavy reliance on complex emissions equipment—like intricate DPF systems, multi-stage EGR valves, and high-strung AdBlue/SCR setups—means these modern diesels are a continuous headache for both drivers and fleet managers. EVs will take control.

Everything is going against Euro manufacturers - self destructive EU legislation, energy crisis due to Ukraine, inflation but also complacency.... New A5 is a case in point - new interior is sub Kia despite screens, massive quality dive...

Do you not think they did it to themselves in the last 10 years with a lack of innovation and gouging their customers?

VW priced themselves out of the market, €50k for a mid tier golf is delusional. Then their EV range never took off.

It’s the EUs fault they forced on these emissions standards forcing the manufacturers to make terrible unreliable engines to they shift to EV and the technology and consumers aren’t there yet causing an absolute collapse I mean if they actually thought out what they were doing they wouldn’t have done it but in typical EU fashion they make thoughtless decisions which at the end of the day make the people suffer🤷‍♂️

It's a huge problem I can see good EVs stacked 10 high in scrap yards when they break over 10 year old. cost of repair out of warranty is mental and Chinese cars won't be any better when it comes to that. I would hate to see the legacy manufacturer going but they do have to change their approach and so does the EU when it comes to regulations good video💪💪💪

I think German cars have lost a lot of desirability. The new a5 and a6 aren't nice even remotely. The new 5 series is a lemon and not in the way the e60 was it will never be a nice looking car. VW make Soo many crossover SUVs it's hard to tell them apart. Pair that with crazy prices and it could spell the end. VW peaked with the mk 7 golf.

Why do you say the Chinese brands are being dumped into Europe, they’re massively outselling the legacy brands in the east so it’s only natural as their brands mature that they chase sales in Europe and the US. It’s no different than the spread of popularity for the Japanese brands back in the 70/80’s. Should the legacy makers be protected just because they were here first? What’s your point?
