I once got fired while having emergency surgery, the next day boss calls and says “why aren’t you at work?” I am in the hospital and you fired me? “ ok well now you really are fired for no call no show. A few days later while at home got a call again “ why aren’t you at work?” You fired me and still recovering “ well you weren’t fired but you are now” so fired 3 times same job same week same manager

I’m on vacation for the first time in a year. My boss ordered our team to leave me alone, cleared my calendar so I can take an extra day to recover, and then deactivated my teams 😂😂😂 I love her and she’s make me a better manager.

I had a manager like that. Direct report above her would make a casual comment like “has xyz company gotten back to us yet?” And she’d run in telling everyone “Mark is FURIOUS we don’t have an update. You need to fix this right now. He’s so mad!” EVERYTHING was an emergency to her and not just a genuine question

I’m a project manager for a construction company and guess what happens when someone isn’t there. You get your ah out there and pick up the slack. The job might go a little slower but finding talented people is not easy and you need to keep them happy and supported. I’ve never once said no when someone asks for time off. Construction is hard af and people need breaks!
