@cinemahow: Is this the best TV show ever? Breaking Bad (2008-2013) is an absolute masterpiece of television from creator Vince Gilligan. Though it’s remembered best for its gripping plot and unforgettable characters, the intentional use of color throughout the show is often massively overlooked. Breaking Bad’s colors, seen most through careful costume design, were a key aspect of the creative process and meticulously thought out by the creators, charting each character’s descent across the show through subtle shifts. #colortheory #breakingbad #tv #film #moviescenes
In the “I am the one who knocks” speech, Walter removes a red shirt to reveal an even darker red of a shirt

Also walter and his family used to wear really dark colors when they were poor but started to wear beige when they became rich

Walter also wore a lot of beige at the beginning to represent his naivety and his regular boring life. Then some green is thrown in with the beige to show some level of greed in its early stages, but then the beige is slowly phased out all together. It then starts throwing the yellow in as well. His wardrobe changes when he commits to cooking and making money. By the end, he primarily only wears yellow (and green. Plus other colours here and there of course). At the beginning of S3 when he’s trying to win Skyler back, he wears soft blues and pinks but it’s only temporary before it changes back. I love how they did this in the show!!!

I can tell you they did this on purpose for sure, there are entire departments that design costumes for movies/shows and it's usually very well thought out
