Bluegrass..... I'm telling you....bluegrass music. I cannot tell you how many times I played bluegrass beside my babies when I would lay them down to get something done. They sometimes got quieter with other music but bluegrass there is just so much going on I think it relaxes them in some odd way lol

God I hate the people who say to let them cry. For some moms it physically pains us to hear our babies cry. This does not last forever. My baby went through this same phase and now he knows I will be there for him when he’s upset and doesn’t need to be held all the time

you have to let them cry or they’ll get used to you carrying them all the time and you won’t be able to get anything done

We don’t do “cry it out” in our house, but we do encourage self soothing. If she’s changed and fed and was completely fine while being held or laying on our bed/the couch, she gets set in her crib. And she’ll fuss/cry for 5 minutes, and if it gets worse or lasts longer than that, she gets soothed again and laid back down. Because she’s fine, she’s just not wanting to be put down, and at 5 months old she can’t be held 24/7 anymore.

Yeah thats just a cry it out situation right there. My mom has the ol 5 second rule lol if it takes them less than 5 seconds to start and stop crying then they are just doing it bc they want to be held (not necessarily a bad thing, as they are still little) and need to start self soothing.

And a very good way to quit that is just let him cry it out. He will tire himself out eventually you can put a blanket over him and kinda tuck it up beside his face to make it feel like someone’s holding him. Just let him cry it out give him a paci Just let him cry it out.

He knows you’re gonna pick him up. That’s why he’s doing it. Let him cry it out.

I don’t understand people who say we should just let babies cry. I tried that twice because I thought I was doing something wrong by not letting my baby cry. When I let her cry for a couple of minutes, she was completely red, couldn’t breathe, was choking from crying, had her fists clenched, and was screaming so much. It took me more than 30 minutes to calm her down. Nothing worked because she was already so worked up, and she just kept crying nonstop, even when I held or rocked her😭 So do whatever is best for YOU and YOUR BABY.

Let him cry! As long as he’s fed, dry, and safe, trust me—he’ll be okay. We learned the hard way with our first son. With our second? Heck no! 😂 After about a week, the crying stopped because he realized nobody was rushing in to pick him up every time.
