Jennie pov She wiped a bit of sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand. Even with a little dirt on her face and wearing very simple clothes, she looked so naturally attractive.  I stepped back from the window when the old ceiling fan above me let out another loud squeaking sound. The heat inside the room was getting worse, and I couldn't stand just sitting here. "Miss Jennie, gusto nyo po ba ng tubig o malamig na inumin?"  "I want an iced Americano." I said, turning around to face her.  "Do you have coffee?" The maid looked nervous and shook her head slowly. "May kape po tayo, Miss... pero 3-in-1 lang po na mainit. Wala po tayong yelo ngayon kasi sira po ang refrigerator sa baba." I closed my eyes and sighed heavily. No aircon and no iced coffee.   I was really going to lose my mind in this place. "Never mind." I muttered in frustration. "I'm going downstairs." I carefully walked down the creaky wooden stairs, taking slow steps so my heels wouldn't slip. I pushed open the front screen door and stepped out onto the porch. The hot  air hit my skin immediately. Down in the  yard, Lisa was carrying a  metal bucket toward the water pump. She set it down and started pumping water, her arms moving up and down with practiced ease. I stood on the porch, crossing my arms over my chest, silently watching her every move. Until she suddenly looked up and caught me staring. I don't know why, but I was instantly attracted to her eyes. Why was my heart suddenly beating so fast like this? She smiled warmly at me and raised her hand to wave. "Magandang umaga po, Miss!" she greeted me cheerfully. Snapping back to my senses, I quickly pulled myself together and rolled my eyes at her. "There is nothing good in the morning" I replied coldly. Still, I couldn't help but feel curious about what she was doing out there, so I finally stepped down and walked closer to her. She lifted the  bucket of water she had just pumped and set it down in front of those little demon  so they could drink. "What are you doing?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest. Lisa looked up at me with that same smile.  "Di niyo po ba nakita? Pinapainom ko po sila ng tubig." "I can clearly see that." I snapped bitterly. "Edi ayun po, pinapainom sila ng tubig" she replied with an innocent grin, as if state-of-the-art obviousness was the most natural answer in the world. I raised an eyebrow, stepping closer to her. "Yah! Do you even know who you are talking to?" "Bakit, sino ka ba?" she asked, sounding genuinely curious.  She stood up, wiped her  hands on her shorts, and tapped her chin. Just a few minutes ago, I was actually attracted to her. Now? She was getting right on my  nerve. "Aha!" she suddenly gasped, clapping her hands together softly.  "Ikaw yung spoiled na anak ni Mr. Kim, no?" My jaw dropped in sheer disbelief. The nerve of this provincial farm girl! "Excuse me?!" I yelled, glaring daggers at her. Lisa just chuckled softly, stepping to the side and gesturing toward the wide  yard. "Maluwag ang daan, Miss." I stood there in complete shock.  Nobody  dared to talk to me like this. Everyone always walked on eggshells around me, trying their best to stay on my good side. But this girl was looking at me like I was just a ordinary girl. "You are so annoying." I gritted through my teeth, clutching my hands into fists. She laughed softly. "Pasensya na" she said, giving me a warm smile.  "Welcome dito sa Isabela, Miss Kim." "What's so welcoming about this place? I don't even want to be here" I snapped, glaring at her while clutching my arms tight against my chest. Lisa just shrugged nonchalantly, casually picking up the empty  bucket.  "Wala naman pong may pake kung ayaw niyo rito, e" This girl is seriously unbelievable!  (CONTINUATION 👇) #jenlisastory #jenlisa_story #kyutielari
