@sadierose.edit: If I were building you a simple, affordable anti-aging skincare routine, this is where I’d start. 🤍 You do NOT need an expensive or complicated routine. These are affordable products I’d personally recommend. AM ROUTINE 1. GENTLE CLEANSER CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser 2. VITAMIN C — CHOOSE ONE • Timeless 20% Vitamin C + E Ferulic Acid Serum • CeraVe Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum • e.l.f. Bright Icon Vitamin C + E + Ferulic Serum You do NOT need all three — these are simply different options. If you’re new to vitamin C, many people can start with daily morning use. If you have sensitive or reactive skin — especially with a stronger L-ascorbic acid formula like Timeless 20% — consider starting a few mornings per week and increasing as tolerated. 3. MOISTURIZER + SPF — CHOOSE ONE • Naturium Dew-Glow Moisturizer SPF 50 • CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 • La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Matte Moisturizer UV SPF 30 — a nice option for oily/combination skin or if you prefer a more matte finish These combine moisturizer + sunscreen in one step. If you need additional hydration, you can layer a moisturizer underneath. Use enough sunscreen for adequate coverage and reapply as appropriate, especially with prolonged outdoor exposure. PM ROUTINE 1. CLEANSE CeraVe Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser 2. RETINOID CeraVe Skin Renewing Retinol Serum Or prescription Tretinoin 3. MOISTURIZE CeraVe Skin Renewing Night Cream NEW TO RETINOIDS? START LOW + SLOW Consider patch testing first. Weeks 1–2: Start around 2 nights per week. Weeks 3–4: If tolerated well, increase to around 3 nights per week. After that: Gradually increase as tolerated. You may eventually work up to every other night or nightly, but you do NOT have to use a retinoid every night to benefit. Use approximately a pea-sized amount for your entire face. Avoid your eyelids, lips and creases around your nose. Apply your retinoid to dry skin. Applying it to damp skin can increase penetration and potentially increase irritation. SENSITIVE? TRY THE SANDWICH METHOD Cleanse → thin layer of moisturizer → retinoid → moisturizer IF YOU’RE STARTING THIS WHOLE ROUTINE FROM SCRATCH You don’t need to introduce everything at once! Start by establishing your cleanser, moisturizer and daily SPF. Then introduce your actives one at a time so your skin has time to adjust — and if something causes irritation, you have a better idea of which product did it. Keep the rest of your routine gentle while adjusting to a retinoid. Initially, avoid exfoliating acids like glycolic, lactic or salicylic acid on the same nights as your retinoid. Some mild dryness or flaking can happen while your skin adjusts. Significant burning, swelling, persistent redness or a rash is a reason to stop and reassess. FACIAL WAXING + SKIN TREATMENTS Always tell your esthetician, dermatologist or anyone treating your skin that you use a retinoid. Retinoids may need to be discontinued before facial waxing and certain lasers, chemical peels or microneedling. Timing varies depending on the retinoid and procedure, so ask your prescriber and/or treatment provider when to stop and restart. Do not wax skin being treated with a retinoid. And remember: skincare isn’t one-size-fits-all. Introduce new products thoughtfully, pay attention to your skin, and adjust based on how it responds. 🤍

I used chatgpt (and cross checked it). I put in the products I use and like, then asked if I could add in a couple other serums I wanted to try to target certain things. then I asked it to build me a daily routine based on those answers. it worked! two weeks in and my skin is looking great.
