@ameliasahm03: ok so this is my second year in a row doing this whole birth thing and i feel like i FAILED myself the first time with my hospital bag so consider this me trying to save u 😭 i packed so many cute things and forgot the things that actually matter??? like who cares about the matching pajama set when ur starving at 2am and the cafeteria is literally closed and ur husband is KNOCKED OUT next to u and u r just sitting there alone eating a granola bar u found in ur purse from three weeks ago the loneliest part nobody talks about is those first few nights in the hospital. like ur so tired and so overwhelmed and everyone goes home and visiting hours end and its just u and this tiny baby and ur kind of like. now what. and ur afraid to sleep and afraid to be awake and ur googling things that make it worse i actually downloaded beacon during my first postpartum and i wish i had it in the hospital too bc it shows u other moms who are up at the same time as u and when its 3am and ur alone and scared and just had a baby that app genuinely felt like a group chat of people who ACTUALLY got it. like not just friends who say "let me know if u need anything" but moms who r literally awake at the same time as u going thru the same thing anyways i also cannot stress enough the pillow thing. i had a full breakdown over a flat hospital pillow and that is not a joke and i will not be taking questions. bring ur own pillow. write it on ur hand if u have to. the long phone charger cord too bc u will be stuck in that hospital bed and ur outlet will be six feet away and u will want to watch something comforting at 2am and u will not be able to reach ur phone and i promise u this will feel like the worst thing that has ever happened to u in that moment packing my bag again soon and this time i am NOT playing around 🤍 saving this for myself too honestly #mom #MomsofTikTok #momlife #baby #newborn
