Audhd here. Highly mask, I will usually dumb my self down to most people because I can't articulate my thoughts fast enough for someone to understand. Or when I can articulate, most don't understand the information within the topic. Solitude is much better.

My test scores were literally off the charts at times and my severe lack of executive functioning meant I only earned a 2.5 GPA🫩Being 2E with inattentive ADHD is horrible.

Being 2E is also a great way to go undiagnosed because you’re basically in stealth mode. Especially with primarily inattentive ADHD. Not a nuisance in class and good enough grades to not make anyone pay attention. There’s a reason why I only got my diagnosis at 32 when I was completely burned out

If you add emotional and emphatic intelligence to this, you will not only perform average while feeling complete shit, you’ll also completely understand why you are like that snd how you differ from people, while having a lot of understanding of the strengths and limitations of others. While never getting that same understanding back, while you really need it, because you are struggling hard while nobody is really alarmed by it.

I genuinely convince myself that I’m a narcissist sometimes because I’m like why do I feel like I can be so creative, smart and capable, “destined for more”, but then I can’t actually do anything. I must be having delusions of grandeur lol! I hate it :(

Not all of us in gifted/GT/GATE programs getting diagnosed with ADHD/Autism as adults because we can't do a load of laundry and go to an appointment on the same day, but were never suspected/evaluated growing up because we did too well in school 🙃.

I have clincially diagnosed 2E (adhd + IQ), but im pretty sure 3E (+ASD). im constantly failing my expectations because I know what I CAN do under ideal circumstances, but can rarely achieve it. I also have dysautonomia and autoimmune diseases, so ADHD + chronic fatigue, pain, and atypical O2 and blood circulation makes it difficult to function. the knowledge that im failing is crippling honestly and the best that I can do is ignore it, but its always there
