OP did nothing wrong. and I wouldn't worry about all the classmates hearing from steve, about how you were trying to flex, because most of them will see steve being jealous. personally, I always think that gossip tells you more about the gossiper than the person they are gossiping about

It's a little weird to not just go straight to the website. If you have a business, get a better URL so you don't have to Google yourself when you're trying to show your portfolio. But definitely NTA for showing his portfolio site.
