For more than five decades, that unmistakable beat was behind the music so many of us grew up with — “La Grange,” “Tush,” “Sharp Dressed Man,” “Gimme All Your Lovin’,” “Legs” and so many more. Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard created a sound that was unmistakably their own — Texas blues, boogie and rock & roll with an attitude that crossed generations. Frank wasn't always standing out front, but behind that drum kit he was absolutely essential. He was the heartbeat holding it all together. 🥁🎶 And now, after losing Dusty Hill in 2021, another member of that legendary trio is gone. 💔 The musicians may leave the stage, but the music doesn't leave us. Somewhere tonight, somebody will turn up a ZZ Top song, hear that groove kick in, and Frank Beard will be right there behind the drums again.
