But the doctors don’t do anything. Even if you go to A&E they just give you some aspirin or something else and then either monitor you without any treatment and send you home

Even if people are experiencing symptoms of a stroke or TIA weeks before the actual stroke and seek medical help, no one seems to take them seriously or provide the help they need. Unfortunately, the whole system is broken.

Yes, but you could have gone to the er with all that and they send you home with aspirin

When I was 17 I took my dad to the GP, because he was acting strange. The GP heard his slurred speech and said “he’s fine, he just can’t speak English that’s all” bearing in mind he came to the uk as a young boy, and his English was perfectly fine! I had to contact social services to get help, who helped get him an mri, but it was too late at this point, he ended up being diagnosed with vascular dementia at just 50, and 55 he passed away. 10 years on and I’m still angry about it. He would’ve been fine if that GP had done his job properly!

My doctors told me the dizziness was vertigo and headache was just a migraine. Guess what happened 2 weeks later, serious ischemic stroke.

I’ve been struggling with this for months now, GP say my blood tests and everything else appears normal. I have a neurology appointment soon but it’s frustrating when the symptoms are real but there’s nothing ‘there’

i had difficulties to breath before. i met a doctor before the stroke I did everything but he couldn't understand that I have a big hole in my heart.
