They predicted my baby to be 8+Lbs. He came out 6lbs lol. It’s not super accurate. I think 2 lbs give or take

My baby was in the <99 percentile my entire pregnancy then at 32 weeks she just decided she had cooked long enough (nothing wrong medically) and she was born 6lbs 7oz. She’s now 6 months old and in the 9th percentile lol

they spent the last part of my pregnancy telling me son would be a whopper anywhere between 10lbs-12lbs they were so adamant 😂 he was born a teeny 7lbs two weeks later

the efw has an accepted ~15% margin of error, so lots of wiggle room on that! which is actually really crazy because efw actually lends a huge hand in many doctors determinations of the necessity of c section and inductions.....

they wouldn't even tell me at my anatomy scan cause they said it doesn't really matter at that stage. at my first growth scan at 29 weeks she was 84th percentile and I think 3 lbs 5 oz? and I have to get a second one next week to see if she's grown too much and if I need an induction.

so the percentile the way I got it explained to me is just the fact of like you said your child is predicted to be in the 40th percentile that means 60% of other babies born around your time of delivery are going to be heavier than your baby and 39% of them are going to be less than your baby and the 1% in there that I'm missing is going to be the ones that are the same weight if that makes sense that's the easiest way to think about it

They did stress tests etc and mentionned baby will be so tiny underweight but he was born 7 lbs 💗 so usually not 100% correct

not as accurate as u think. my daughter was suposed to be 12 lbs according to the ultrasound but she was born 6lbs 3 ounces.
