Work from home also astronomically improves quality of life and lessens expenses for the employees. When I was WFH I spent my break playing guitar, now, I walk around office buildings because there’s no break room and nowhere to go and nothing to do besides stare at a phone

Companies that are going with an RTO mandate are hoping that they can solve poor performance issues in-office. They forget that bad employees are not location-specific. Whereas fully remote companies quickly show poor performers the door, because they have great performers lining up to do the job right.

At home I’m laser focused and productive since I’m a high achiever. Now I spend an hour each way in traffic, non-stop interruptions, LOUD office environment, constant, “you gotta minute?”, taking a journey just to go to the freaking restroom, fight your way thru the break room and stand in line for a microwave, constant desk changes, crappy equipment and tech issues, and it’s all productivity time lost. Not to mention, every single meeting I have is virtual.. EVERY SINGLE ONE. I’m drained. I just want to do the work I love to do. Our return to office policy changed to also include ALL promotions are backfilled only in-office, so there goes any career progression for those that were granted an exception to work from home. Yeah.. it’s been real awesome 😑.

I’m less tired when I work from home. The commute can be so overwhelming. Plus public transportation get people so sick. Soo I’m healthier now.

Yeah except I've applied at all those companies and it's impossible to get a foot in the door because they have ridiculous requirements in their JDs. They get talent, but they can also be extremely picky.
