@sarasota.jen: This one hits incredibly close to home. 🥹🩵 I’m a HUGE RHOC 🍊 fan, so when I was watching this episode I immediately paused and rewound the scene of Carmella sharing her story about being diagnosed with LADA Type 1 Diabetes ! I was diagnosed with LADA 4 years ago when I was 34. I too went in to the dr for something completely unrelated to find out I had sugar in my urine. They then ordered labs and that’s when it all started. Unless you’ve lived it, it’s hard to explain how much life changes after hearing those words. There’s the learning curve, the constant calculations, the devices, the highs, the lows…and figuring out this whole new version of myself and let’s not forget the mourning phase of your old self. There was even a scene of Carmella at dinner with her other cast mates and she says I’m going to get up and go take my insulin. When the ladies had her back and told her to just do it at the table 👏🏼 I know that feeling so hard and I can guarantee many diabetics do, the feeling like you have to hide your injections. Thank you, Carmella, for being open about your diagnosis and bringing more awareness to LADA and Type 1 diabetes. I really hope you see this and know just how much sharing your story touched my heart.
