Because people ignored the concerns of parents and parents took it upon themselves to make health decisions for their child. Doctors should have helped parents feel confident in giving their children vaccines instead of calling them crazy.

Kids die from the flu too every year. And sometimes, they've had the flu shot! Let parents do what they want. It's not hard. I refused the Covid shot and all 3 Gardasil shots for my son. Am I a bad mother? I think not.

All of my siblings and I had measles at the same time. It’s a virus. Those deaths you speak of had underlying health issues.
