I think it's funny cause most of the 20-30 year olds I've seen LOVED Katseye in the beginning and now hate them. Meanwhile I didn't know/hear of a lot of younger kids starting to like them until Gnarly. Like weird that the switch actually drove away the older fans and drew in the younger ones.

Unless they make some massive changes Katseye is definitely not going to be around in 5 years, assuming they have the Kpop standard 7 year contract and they actually make it to 7 years they aren’t going to be renewed, maybe one or two of them go solo but those will probably not do amazingly just okay

Touch, Debut, Gabriella, Gameboy, Tonight I Might, M.I.A, and to some extent Gnarly were all good songs. And tbh even with those songs they still had a decent sized audience that were in their 20s and early 30s. A hard pivot wasn’t needed. It’s so sad to see what their management is doing now.

I think management got in their heads during the competition and they felt pressure to play up to the “I’m here to work” they’ll look back and realise they’ve been used and Manon was always right to set boundaries. 14 hr rehearsals are unnecessary and unsustainable too

i think the issue at its core is there’s a western management that doesn’t understand the eastern market and an eastern management that doesn’t understand the western market. hybe and geffen have clashing views on what they want this group to be. one wants a kpop group, the other wants the pussycat dolls. now they exist strangely between the two, dancing provocatively while doing slime ads. to me it’s a difference between western and eastern culture and what makes a cultural phenomenon in the two
