@futureshelf: Have you ever struggled to pick up that very last strand of spaghetti? Today, I want to introduce a bowl design that started with exactly this kind of tiny everyday inconvenience. This bowl was designed by Osaka-born designer Ippei Tsujio. If you look closely, there are three small grooves carved into the inside of the plate. By sliding your fork into these grooves, you can easily lift the last few noodles or small pieces of food left on the plate. When he first shared the idea on social media, it resonated with a huge number of people and generated more than 16 million impressions. He then spent about a year and a half refining the shape and usability before turning it into an actual product. Ippei Tsujio is known for finding ideas in ordinary daily experiences that are so familiar we often overlook them. Beyond this bowl, his work includes packaging that makes anything inside look like bread, and stationery that reveals a flower when the letter is folded. His designs are characterized by adding small ideas that reduce inconvenience while creating an unexpected sense of fun.
