I have had a million people tell me that they feel so understood and heard by me. The few times I thought I was in a safe space to feel heard or understood back by the people in my life they get physically uncomfortable and bring the subject back to them 😢

Me and my wife I think cracked the code on this one I think. We figured out that it was actually me not understanding and that she did actually understand me. When I would think I understood her I was kinda thinking about her circumstances as if I was in them vs how it actually felt in her perspective. We started calling it using myself as a baseline for simplicity. Not sure if it's something you may have considered already but possibly food for thought lol
