@forgottenworldwide: Joliet’s Splash Station Waterpark was a 20-acre outdoor water park located at 2780 Channahon Road (Route 6) in Joliet, Illinois. Opened in 2002, it provided family-friendly entertainment with attractions including water slides, a lazy river, and a swimming pool. The park experienced declining attendance and financial difficulties as the surrounding Route 6 corridor changed. After the 2019 season, the Joliet Park District permanently closed Splash Station because of continued financial losses, with the COVID-19 pandemic further affecting the facility’s future. The former waterpark property has remained closed and was subsequently listed for sale.
