Steve put out his solo in 1984. Then went back to Journey after only to leave in 1987. Steve started the reunion talk then put out the album Trial by Fire in 1995? Then he had the hip injury. He put off and stopped the tour for 18 months. The band just wanted to know his decision. After waiting so long they told him they had to move on with another singer. I think he was just wanting a good contract with a good pay out for it working.
