Heyyy, I’m from Prague and this made me cackle so loud, yeah we use Czech crowns, CZK, which is pronounced like check crowns, and yes we do also get a lot of angry and confused Americans at some times of the year

Isn’t the colloquial term for Czech Crown a koruna? Calling it a “check” would be like calling a British Pound a “Brit” instead of quid.

I had that customer at my branch, demanding I give her cash in the currency of the country she was travelling to. (Thailand) I had to explain that we don't keep overseas currency in our regional branch and we'd usually order the currency from our capital city. He interrupted me mid sentence before I could tell him that no branch of our back deals in Thai Baht. He had a total melt down at the first bit of news, screaming at ME that I was useless and what was he supposed to do now coz he was leaving on Saturday night. I explained there were foreign exchanges at international airports which he could use. He still was yelling at me as he stormed out the branch. It was closing time on a Friday night and I was so relieved he was gone. Lo and behold on Saturday afternoon, I get a phone call from head office saying a customer who is travelling overseas today has not realised his passport was in the security box at our branch and he was begging us to go to the branch and open the safe for him .. can you guess who it was? I got 4 hours double time pay plus travel allowance, plus the satisfaction of seeing this smart-ass customer fully embarrassed.

I’m surprised she knew where Prague even is 😂 Also, my 66 yo mother still says checks are the same as cash and tried to pay with one at a baseball concession stand. Now I can’t go back to that concession stand ever again 🫣

The person I sat next to on a plane was freaking out that they needed to convert money to be able to spend money when they landed. I told them I would exchange currency 2/1….. it was a flight from Seattle Washington USA to Anchorage Alaska USA. I couldn’t do it. But it lead to almost 20 minutes explaining that Alaska was US and uses US currency.

I worked for a bank when I was going to night school and I can definitely have testified that the average customers are like this. just a quick story. had a customer come in. she wanted 20 X $1 coins to give as Christmas presents to her, grandchildren. didn't usually keep dollar coins in our drawer so I had to buy them from my head teller. when I came back I put them in an envelope and I said that will be $20. The customer looked at me and said oh that's too much. never mind. my only hope is she told that story at dinner so that her husband could look at her and say how much did you think 20. one dollar coins was going to cost?

I was trying to find a person inour system who didn't know her account# & didn't have her ID. there were several people with her name but some had a middle initial. I asked her what her middle initial was & she looked at her friends & they all shrugged at her & she finally said, "I don't know what my middle initial is, but my middle name is Anne." 🙄
