I hate the job of taking the gear off the back of a clutch basket. The last time I did it, the clutch basket broke around the gear, making it almost impossible to save the gear without using a grinder in the process. I accidentally cut a spring steel washer in between said gear and clutch basket that luckily Rekluse motorsports had for my specific bike.
