So they approached you, asked you to teach and then refused to pay you for your time? Why didn’t they express initially if they wanted it to be a voluntary position? The clarification should have been there from the start. Then once you addressed the situation you were dropped? That’s detrimental to your students. Again they could have clarified and come to an agreement.
