@nursehadley: I never thought I would share this much publicly, but I also never thought I would have to spend 2.5 years proving why I should be allowed to leave my marriage. I had evidence, an incredible attorney, the ability to miss work, and the money to keep fighting. And it was still this hard. That is why I care so much about changing this law. Also, y’all, I was genuinely nervous about asking people to sign a petition if it was just going to sit online and go nowhere. I met with @Change.org last week and learned that once a petition builds enough support, their team can help bring it directly to lawmakers. That made me feel a lot better about asking. I’m already divorced. This won’t help me. I just really want it to be easier for the woman I used to be. Petition is on my page if you want to help.
