I have tried 3 different “homemade” Hamburger Helper and none taste like the real deal. Cheeseburger Hamburger Helper is my cheat meal so will continue buying the original. And bread and butter with it is a must.

I use a can of the cheeder soup mix, and then 2 cups of beef broth. add more cheese if needed.
