Yup John Wick had a similar effect and essentially ended the chaotic shaky-cam fight scenes popularized by the Bourne movies. So many gun-fu fight movies after that embraced steady, wide shots and more visible fight choreography

Since no one else is talking about it, I would say “The Matrix” doesn’t belong on this list, only because it’s the next big, influential leap after “Die Hard”. Even though it came out in 1999, it’s a Millennial movie, not a ’90s movie.
