We need more planets like Jarillo-VI! I really enjoyed how it focused on THAT planets issue. Seeing all the characters reaction to “people beyond the stars” and their knowledge was super fun! I feel like HSR is just getting too big for its own good. I like seeing reoccurring characters, but I want another planet that is 1.) a normal planet with its own issues, and 2.) a planet disconnected from everything else. I guess you could say Amphoreus, but even then it was connected to Rememberance and Destruction in overly complicated ways 💔

Planarcadia got too much around 4.2 when they not only rushed Asheville’s banner, but they also took the anniversary character role from Eva✌🏽 all for a SP btw they’ve gotten so lazy the only sp’s with actual good lore is himeko nova and sparxie you could add blade if you want how ever they delayed 4.0 to only put sole effort into character designs

Here’s my take: I dont know why Hoyo seems DETERMINED to WASTE every thing about this planet. 1. The games: the aeonic games in which the winner literally gets to control reality for 5 minutes. And SOMEHOW that got shafted “oh no X is more important” “Uh oh Y came up” NO MATTER WHAT STAKES THEY INTRODUCE IT CANT BEAT “5 minutes of reality manipulation”! Shuhu’s acting up? Aha. Asat is being devious? Aha. A fragment of the voracity is acting up. AHA! The games hardly felt like a plot point, no one competed at all! Sparxie seemed to be the only player who cared so ofc they robbed her of her mask for 4 patches! The competition was so bad Asat Pramad placed 2nd, INSTANTLY! None of the supplicants had done anything to the point Asat managed to dominate the propaganda machine IPC, propaganda shuhu and everyone else! It wasnt a real competition and thats really disappointing. Somehow the flamechase felt more impactful AFTER THE KHASLANA REVEAL (when they turned out to be a sham). 2. The characters: Once someone releases they stop being relevant and it HURTS the story. Sparxie and her 4 patch mask chase, Yao’s disappearing act, Ashveil jut being useless and a mystery, SW999 getting more story from marketing, Evanescia not being a character, MBlade “joining the games”. All of these units stopped mattering after release and it SUCKED its half the reason the games felt so weak, bc hoyo couldnt dare take their eyes of this patches money maker there was no room for competition. Half of them (SW999, Blade, Eva) didnt even have a roll call (asat doesnt even have a mask). Its such a shame bc they all have such interesting stories that simply dont get developed (like yao’s disease having its consequences revealed 5 minutes before they take effect). Its also why I think they included so many SPs so theyd have less introduction to write (and why the only released unit who didnt have prior mention (eva) had the worst writing to date) 3. The plot was shallow in general. Welt’s arc meant nothing, “where were you 15 years ago” like what? The only build up was the never ending cliff hangers

I honestly think Jarilo-VI is the most enjoyable planet. It was just about regular humans trying to survive and trying to fix their stellaron issue. All the characters were really down-to-earth and felt human, and it was a great start to the game. Now we're not even focused on stellarons and constantly fighting galatic sized threats. We should've had more planets like Jarilo-VI before jumping into these insane threats. Like the story just feels so hard to follow sometimes and I can't get myself to care about most of the recent characters because they've all got these crazy backstories and connections. Jarilo-VI was simple and enjoyable.

im a big fan of complex stories but I kinda have to agree with how planarcadia felt like a jumble of everything at once, they made the long awaited la mancha seem so underwhelming and made evenescia who is basically a dual emenator feel unimpressive, I know theres alluded that she did smth crazy but it wasnt really stated anywhere in particular, I find the differences of penacony and planarcadia interesting they just didnt make those differences feel stark enough ig? hope the next few planets after astropolis r better sorted

I found amphoreus boring, and I found planarcadia even more boring... but i can't say this because I glaze the Xianzhou.. 😭.. I'm sorry I found 2.5 pacing and story so peak to the point none of the stories can compare to it 😳

Do I think Planarcadia was poorly written? Yes. Do I think it’s entirely Hoyo’s fault? No, not really. Why? Because Planarcadia clearly had politically motivated last minute changes to get the chinese government off their backs when the China Japan rivalry suddenly got heated right before Planarcadia’s release, and you can’t make me think otherwise.

The themes of planarcadia are sooo good but some of the character plots were done so badly 😭 hot take tho I do prefer planarcadia over most of amphoreus. amph had so many problems too

my feelings exactly. the concept was great until they made weird writing choices. yes I am a lore reader but even still. too many important characters sidelined or irrelevant for their patches, a planetary threat turned universal, weird pacing, and again irrelevant characters in patches

it feels like amphoreus, but the other way around, like amphoreus's story telling absolute shit, almost made me quit the game. Meanwhile, Planarcadia's actually keeps your attention and isn't a drag. But while Amphoreus was too long, Planarcadia was not long enough. The pacing is way too fast, and the characters feel like they get no screentime at all. Important revelations are glossed over, and the story is rushed.

im having fun with it but i agree like getting to be THE ELATION AEON FOR ONE MINUTE was what sold me originally on the livestream and i thought the idea was so fun and we could see what people would do for that power but now i lowkey have no idea whats happening😭😭 still enjoying it tho cause im not that hard to please (also the og plan could have made intresting commentary on live game shows and entartainment in general)
