The vessel has an interesting history. I live by Hudson yards and there was so many incidents of people jumping off that they made it so you could only go up the vessel with a group. Despite being in a group, people continued to jump off so they closed the vessel for like…2-3 years? And during those years they had to figure out how to make it so people cant jump off because the vessel was 200 million dollars and it would’ve just been there for no reason if no one was allowed up. They were gonna put glass all over so the view wasn’t obstructed, but they just put wire nets instead because it was cheaper (which took a year and a half to install)
