I used to get Deja Vu ALOT. I get it very rarely now that I take Bupropion and Lexapro. Im not sure what that correlation is, but I think there might be one.

Isn’t there a theory that Déjà vu is caused by a temporary disconnect between your short and long term memory creation, so you essentially experience that moment twice as it’s processed twice until that resolves? That theory always made more sense to me because I get overwhelming Déjà vu when I’m stressed and it always felt like I was almost able to predict what was going to happen next but only for a couple of seconds

When I get Deja Vu I can actually predict what will happen next, or what people will say next. Or at least I'm perceiving it that way. It's not just a feeling of "hmm this is familiar"

PSA: Déjà vu is not when you’ve dreamt it before. That’s called Deja reve. Déjà vu is when you feel you already have the memory of what you’re currently doing, not just from a dream.

What is dreams that come true? I’ve dreamt of places and situations then experienced them months or years later, it’s memory of the dream happening, and in real life I’m reexperiencing it 🤷♀️

What about the experience where I know for a fact I have had a dream about this entire event happening before, I know exactly what will happen next, it all happens predictably as I know it will and there’s nothing I can do to stop it :D

Especially when you're convinced you've dreamed the present scenario before, especially word-for-word interaction, I reckon it could be your brain filling in gaps from a memory in real time (with a slight delay); rather than having dreamed it, you may have experienced something similar enough that it triggers memory [verb] without an actual memory [noun] to recall. Pretty sure this is a theory I read somewhere years ago

Deja reve happens to me all the time, I know for a fact I’ve dreamt something before and then it happens exactly like I remember, most the time my dream has something go wrong and when I pick up on the event occurring I usually do something different, I think of it as the universe giving me a warning
