my ex from 2 relationships ago did this very recently. I already healed from the pain she caused me emotionally but she called to tell me she was in therapy, how sorry she was for putting me in a lower place that set me up for failure in my recent relationship. told me she is in therapy and realized how much she regrets taking me for granted. I dont know if its correct to say it healed something in me but I freaking respected the hell out of it. I respect personal growth so much

Problem is it sounds like you would be doing it for you and your conscience. They can forgive and most likely want to forget…. You coming back in and breaking boundaries to say you’re sorry is a nice gesture but it might mean very little and actually reopen a wound they were healing because of you. There’s nothing more I want to do than send a message too….. but I know I can’t.

It is! I did it and now we’re facebook friends and I get to see her happy and inlove with her husband and babies. Seven years ago she would have been my maid of honor but now we’re strangers and that’s okay. It took me 4 years to grow the courage to send an apology message. I will never regret it. I still miss our friendship dearly.
