Having quality time in your marriage takes intention and consistency. When Eric and I had Aria it was an adjustment, but definitely felt doable. Going from one child to two felt like going from one child to ten though. 😭 It may not work for everyone, but this nightly routine helps our kids wind down peacefully and we get a little time for us, even if it’s just for an hour or two. Save this for inspiration ⬇️ ⏰ 5:00 PM – Dinner time starts
We all sit down for dinner as a family every night. ⏰ 6:00 PM – Family clean-up
Everyone helps tidy up and close down the kitchen. Yes, even EJ! 🤣 ⏰ 7:00 PM – Quiet Hour
Electronics go off. We slow the evening down and enjoy real, uninterrupted connection. If dinner and clean up finishes early, we’ll go for a family walk a few night a week. ⏰ 7:15 PM – Bedtime routine begins
We keep it simple and consistent: bath, brush, book, bed. Same routine every night, and it’s been that way since Aria was a newborn. The consistency helps our kids wind down, and it makes the transition to sleep a lot easier. ⏰ 8:00 PM – Our time
Once the kids are asleep, our window to unwind can start. It’s not always fancy or profound, but it doesn’t have to be. We might just talk and decompress or watch a show but that time at the end of the night is crucial to how we reconnect and recharge. Remember you don’t need perfection, just a plan that works for your family. Start small, be consistent, and give yourself grace along the way. 🤍 #healthymarriage #marriagegoals #marriageworks #nightlyroutine #marriagecoach #marriagetips #marriedwithchildren
