@tc.travels: The best stops on the Road to Hana 🌴👇 If you’re planning a Maui trip, SAVE this because the Road to Hana has so many stops that it can be hard to know which ones are actually worth pulling over for. We drove the full Road to Hana and these were our favorite stops along the way: 📍 Ho‘okipa Lookout: giant sea turtles + some of Maui’s best surfers 📍 Twin Falls: easy waterfall hike and swimming spot 📍 Rainbow Eucalyptus Trees: the famous colorful trees right off the Hana Highway 📍 Ke‘anae Peninsula: dramatic lava coastline + famous banana bread 📍 Upper Waikani Falls (Three Bears Falls): one of the best roadside waterfalls 📍 Waiʻānapanapa State Park: Maui’s famous black sand beach 📍 Hana Town: perfect spot to stop for lunch and explore 📍 Pīpīwai Trail: an unreal hike through a massive bamboo forest 📍 Waimoku Falls: the 400-foot waterfall at the end of the Pīpīwai Trail 📍 ‘Ohe‘o Gulch (Seven Sacred Pools): scenic pools and coastline in Haleakalā National Park The Road to Hana is one of those drives where the journey really IS the destination. Waterfalls, rainforests, black sand beaches, bamboo forests, lava cliffs; it genuinely feels like you’re driving through a different version of Maui every few miles. ⚠️A few words of advice: come prepared for rain because the weather can change FAST and heavy downpours can cause impromptu flooding. Fill up your gas tank before you start, bring bug spray (the bugs were no joke 😅), and take your time on the narrow, winding roads. Drive slowly, let locals pass whenever you can, and remember that people actually live along this route! Be respectful of private property, signs, and the communities you’re driving through.
