You can also have a mix of features of both. I have bipolar 1 with severe depression and psychotic features. That’s why it’s now a spectrum disorder because everyone’s severity and symptoms can vary.

I’m both! I have the highs without psychosis but have low lows…I cycle more quickly. But as I get older I’ve found I may have been in psychosis without even knowing it….lord. What a shit show. day 5 on meds

I was diagnosed by a psychiatrist as rapid cycling bipolar 2, because every day was a full range, roller coaster of emotions. I would have manic episodes and extreme lows all in 1 day
