Internal Med PGY3! We do this every morning as well with every admission we get overnight. The intern presents the patients while attendings are critiquing management, asking pimping questions, etc. all of this in front of every resident and med student on service at the time

M4 here. My GenSurg Sub-I did this at 6am for any admissions by the SAO and to which team, floor consults by intern, & surgeries that happened. All from 5pm the day prior since they did 24hr call. Then we’d spit and round

My program does this in front of what feels like the entire department, at least a representative (attending/fellow/chief) from every orthopedic subspecialty service, in a conference room rather than just a table. When I was an intern on consults my dreams at night were exclusively about consults, it dominated my psyche. I think the pressure makes you respect it, and you work harder and learn more, it’s a positive thing more than a negative thing, however uncomfortable at first

Back when I was a resident we also had to track down/print and hang up the actual films on the X-ray light box.

Nice to know . What do you believe can prepare you for this for this beforehand? And best tips on how to regulate your nervous system, just feel it will fire up and spike anxiety- all the scrutiny and eyes on you when you are learning and prone to make mistakes . Great content
