His own sister, Dr Uzma Khan, is a doctor herself, and she says they basically checked his blood pressure and sent him back. Is this seriously what we are calling medical treatment now?
The Supreme Court ordered proper medical assessment and treatment for Imran Khan. Not a box ticking exercise. Not a blood pressure check. Not an opportunity to make it look like something had been done.
And for what? What exactly has this man done to deserve being treated with such contempt? He gave Pakistan decades of his life. He brought home a World Cup. He built hospitals for people who could never afford cancer treatment. He became Prime Minister and represented Pakistan on the world stage.
You can love him or hate him. You can agree with his politics or disagree with every word he has ever said. But when the order of the highest court in the country can allegedly be reduced to checking a prisoner's blood pressure and sending him straight back, this stopped being about Imran Khan a long time ago.
It is about Pakistan.
Because if the law cannot protect a former Prime Minister when the Supreme Court itself has intervened, what chance does an ordinary Pakistani have?
This is not strength. This is not justice. And this is certainly not the rule of law.
May Allah protect Imran Khan, grant him complete shifa, preserve his health, strengthen him through every injustice and allow truth and justice to prevail. May Allah protect Pakistan from oppression and give its people leaders and institutions that fear Him more than they fear losing power. Ameen.
