@lindsay__elizabeth: ⭐️4 stars. This book has vibes of regency historical romance mixed with magic and a murder mystery. I loved how descriptive the author was, it made the unique magic system that much more impactful. The romance between the two main characters is a slow burn so it can drive you a little mad in the first half of the book. I loved that the MMC is possessive and yearns like no other which added to his protective nature. However, I hated that marriage was seen basically as a prison because it made me want the characters to not end up together. Tropes: - Forced Proximity - Marriage of Convenience - Found Family - Political Intrigue 🎙 Audiobook notes: This is told in dual narration. The narrators were incredible. I loved that they were so into it that you could hear their exhaustion in some scenes. I also appreciated their accents especially in the beginning of the book where they speak of how the different classes sound.
