@drabby6: 1. Bemotrizinol (BEMT) differs from other US chemical sunscreen in the following ways: BEMT sits on top of the skin with little absorption; more like a mineral sunscreen but without the white cast. Bemotrizinol is more stable in UV light compared to other current chemical sunscreens in the US, it is cosmetically superior, and it has broad coverage against both UVA and UVB 2. Bemotrizinol has been used safely and effectively in European and Asian sunscreens for more than 20 years. It’s listed on the FDA GRASE list for sunscreens along with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide 3. The new sunscreen will be available under several different common sunscreen brands you know and available in local pharmacy. The following companies have announced their versions will be released soon: @CeraVe @Neutrogena @LaRochePosayUS #sunscreen #dermatologist
Would you recommend sunscreens with Bemotrizinol over mineral ones? Multiple SCCs/immunosupressed

Is the benefit of using this over a mineral sunscreen just the lack of white cast?

How likely is it that other sunscreens (like those in the Korean Beauty of Joseon) might get approved at some point? Hypothetically, if a wealthy person sponsored all the costs of getting evaluated, would they pass scientific muster?

The manufacturer submitted its application during the Biden administration and that was only a few years ago so the whole time span between submission and reviewing it happened pretty quickly and I couldn’t be more happy. 🌸🌸 I think we could start buying the products this coming autumn.!!

Since either myself or someone in my circle goes to Europe at least once a year, we've always used the La Roche Posay from Europe for the better coverage?
