Anti-intellectualism has been a part of right wing ideology, especially fascism, for a very long time. The fact that science is used against religion, and religion is a cornerstone for most right wing ideology, has put the two in opposition. That being said, there is a lot of merit to the point you just made. Misogyny is also a cornerstone to right wing ideology, patriarchy, and most religions.

We’ve seen this with every profession that has gone through the progression of being male dominated to female dominated. It was respected and now it’s dismissed. Flight attendants, teachers, etc. how can we dismiss women? By discrediting anything they accomplish, no matter how prestigious it once was.
