to be honest, I would much rather see a movie about Miguel and his efforts to being a popular musician. The world knows who Hector is and he probably carries a massive expectation on his shoulders. so wouldn't it be nice in the end his breakout song is called Coco after his grandma. the land of the dead could be an afterthought like a place he visited when he feels like giving up
