Replying to @naye I tried making viral squishies using ONLY dollar store supplies,and somehow this experiment ended with melted squishy skin, dried-up filling and one squishy literally exploding its insides everywhere. 😭 This is the FINAL part of my DIY dollar store squishy series, which means it was finally time to finish our last squishy and test every single one we made. Considering I bought slime, Ice Cream Floosh, aquarium pebbles, balloons, air squishies and flexible glue thinking I could recreate those expensive viral squishy textures for cheap… I was feeling way too confident. First I tried combining two different slime textures inside one of the squishy skins, and immediately regretted it because the mixture started looking suspiciously like intestines. Absolutely not. 💀 I switched back to the Ice Cream Floosh, filled the squishy completely and tried sealing everything with Fix-All super glue. HUGE mistake. Apparently the glue and this squishy skin are mortal enemies because it literally started **melting through the plastic**. Then it was time to test the pumpkin crunchy squishy, which somehow weighed approximately 10 pounds and had become nearly impossible to squeeze. The pebbles still sounded crunchy, but the filling inside seemed to dry out and completely ruined the texture. And somehow the Halloween cat got even worse overnight because the filling basically exploded straight through the damaged skin. Truly the most accidentally horrifying Halloween squishy I could have created. 😭 BUT we actually got one winner. The homemade balloon squishy ended up having the PERFECT soft, creamy texture and was easily the best DIY squishy from this entire experiment. I would genuinely make that one again, especially because I still have about ten balloons left. 😂 So can you make a viral squishy entirely from Dollar Store ingredients? Apparently yes… but maybe stay very far away from the super glue.
