When this presentation is coupled with a dropping Glasgow Coma Scale score, marked hypertension with a widened pulse pressure, and severe bradycardia, the patient is actively displaying Cushing’s triad—a late physiological response signaling critical intracranial pressure, compromised brainstem function, and impending cerebral herniation that demands immediate airway stabilization, neuroprotective measures, and emergent surgical transfer.
