It is cannon that Percy and Vax would have been a thing if the actors weren't afraid of getting canceled. That's why Percy is with Vex (no hate, I love her, she's amazing, I love their relationship) because the campaign was new and it was still very iffy for VAs to express their sexuality/ character(s) sexuality (Example: Brandon McInnis and J. Michael Tatum being together and then married for years before telling anyone the were together).
