@saltsugarandstories: It’s dinner time, y’all! ❤️ Tonight I’m bringing back Shaney’s Taco Salad, and I haven’t made this in MONTHS. I forgot just how dang good it is. This is one of those salads that absolutely does not feel like you’re eating a salad. 😂 It’s got seasoned hamburger, cheese, Doritos, beans, corn, Catalina dressing… I mean, come ON! SHANEY’S TACO SALAD 🌮🥗 * Lettuce * 1 small can whole kernel corn, drained * 1 can beans, rinsed and drained * 1½ bunches green onions, chopped * About 1½ cups sharp cheddar cheese * Cooked and seasoned ground hamburger (taco packet or whatever seasoning you’d like) * About 1 cup chopped tomatoes * 1 regular-size bag Doritos, crushed * Catalina dressing, about ½ of a 24-oz bottle, or however much you like Cook and season your hamburger and let it cool down a little. Add your lettuce, corn, beans, green onions, cheese, hamburger and tomatoes to a big bowl. WAIT until you’re ready to eat before adding the crushed Doritos and Catalina dressing. Toss it all together and serve immediately so those Doritos stay crunchy. And YES, I make my own taco seasoning for the hamburger. I’ll put that recipe right here too because once you make your own, there really ain’t much reason to buy the little packet. 😂 CHERIE’S HOMEMADE TACO SEASONING: (Adjust to taste, but this is spot-on for 1¼ lb of beef) • 1 Tbsp chili powder • 1 teaspoon paprika • 1 tbsp cumin • ½ teaspoon garlic powder • ½ teaspoon onion powder • ½ teaspoon black pepper • 1-2 Tablespoons Knorr Caldo de Pollo chicken bouillon (this is the magic ingredient — and it’s salty, so do NOT add extra salt) Y’all try this one.
