Another problem is that once you're this behind the eight ball logistics-wise, you're constantly playing catch-up. And at the end of a normal 6-month deployment things are really starting to break down mechanically from heat, wear from constant use, sand intrusion, and repairs that need a shipyard. There's a reason you enter a shipyard maintenance availability immediately after a long cruise. I can only imagine how it is after 9 months with a crippled parts supply chain.

I have said since the Iranians cracked the EW umbrella, that our bases (our supply providers) got hammered and changed logistics. You and I both know that logistics are coordinated and planned/scheduled before anyone gets underway. And that logistics planning would have run the contingencies based on the “What ifs” as to losing resupply from these bases and the secondary sources be put online for stand by to stand by. But THIS is ALL based on having professionals in place, supported, given the logistics plan and led with seriousness, experience and support from leadership. But that’s the rub. Inept leadership can only replicate inept actions.

My youngest wanted to sign up for the military on her 16th birthday, I knew for facts we would (uk) end up involved… glad I made her go to college instead, she can do what she wants at 18 but she isn’t fighting these wars
