appliance repair tech here yes leave the door open on the washer when it’s not in use and also make sure you’re drying out the door boot (the gay rubber ring just inside of the door) in your washer too otherwise it will get moldy and nasty

runs a cycle of just distilled white vinegar and it’ll take care of the smell. and make sure to leave it open when not in use so it can air out and dry!

get a bissel vaccum. they’re just as good as a shark but 1/4 of the price bc they don’t care nearly as much about marketing. perfect for pets. if you can wait for a sale you can get them for really cheap - i got my $450 model for $150 + a free steam shot on black friday
