My job as a recruiter is not to find you a job. Even independent recruiters work for their clients to help them find the people they are looking for. Just because a manager does not want somebody with transferrable skills for a job does not mean they do not understand transferrable skills and does not mean nobody knows what they’re doing. People make decisions at work about what they want to do and then teams execute to do those things. That is how it works. For some reason in hiring the common mindset is that means everyone is doing it wrong. But nobody ever wants Recruiters to take a chance on someone when they are perfectly qualified.
