This similar thing happened with another creator, LauraLove and her son. kid spills the coffee. she just goes quiet and takes deep breaths. and then calmly explains not to slide the cup. the difference is staggering. the way this mom acted was still aggressive but trying to phrase it as if this was a healthy way to handle the situation. and thats what people have issue with

that daughter didnt look like she felt safe at all. she looked like she was on pins and needles waiting to see what happened. she wasnt "watching her mother regulate her emotions" she was waiting for a freak out and her body was ready. telling her to go sit down and not move after spilling a drink is insanity. cant wait til that little girl gets her own therapist.

There’s always a certain language these creators use. Not sure how to explain it but “she watches me regulate” “she knows she’s welcome back into the space”. I think it weirds me out because it reminds me of corporate speak, but pretending a toddler actually thinks this way

uuuhhh as someone who's mom reacted like this, aka being obvious about trying to regulate in a way that makes you feel bad, that kid is panicking but attempting to hide it. I've been there, if that was me I'm watching her face to see if it's gonna build or turn towards me even passive-aggressively, if I'm going to have to intervene. That's not the stance of a child who feels safe a comfortable, that's the stance of a child who's calculating their odds of being targeted

it honestly looks to me like the box flap blew open, and because SHE put a drink on an unstable surface, it blew off....the poor kid had nothing to do with it. i feel so bad for her kiddo.
