لسوء الحظ، لم يسمح منظمو البطولة للسيد نامو فاضل بحمل علم كردستان عند وصوله، وكان لهذا أثرٌ بالغٌ على معنويات المقاتل الكردي. فهو ليس من النوع الذي يستسلم بسهولة. قبل أيامٍ قليلة من البطولة، كان مستاءً للغاية لعدم تمكنه من حمل علم كردستان يوم البطولة، وكان واضحًا خلال منافسات الليلة أن هذا الأمر قد أثّر على معنوياته.
