Hartland parent and blue dot here! Both the school board and library board are problematic. There is a very loud group of agitators that have been trying to push the schools and library to the point of exhaustion. Our school superintendent and a narrow board majority of normal trustee has been the only saving Grace since 2020. The superintendent is retiring at the end of this calendar year, and if we don’t maintain the majority I fear that the next superintendent will be a nightmare for Hartland schools.

There was a community in my school district that was the target of Mom’s for Liberty. They went as far as harassing librarians on their way to their car. Ultimately the community lost its library. Now the kids don’t have a library at all. Brilliant 🙄

I think a good 50% of the books that I have checked out from my township library or the Howell library, when I lived there, we’re not actually part of either local collection, but we’re made available to meet through MeLCat.

I hope I am rich so my kids can go to school in Europe. At this point with censorship, school shooters, and not allowing schools to teach empathy its very depressing to think about having kids in this environment. I don’t know how parents can do it nowadays.
