It’s a very large grey area, they can get in trouble but it wouldn’t be easy because they have a lot of lawyers and money, their main focus is burying it in so much bs that you run out of money before it even gets in a court room, they don’t fight fair because they know they’ll lose so they do everything they can to keep you from having your day in court

I’ve seen it in France, in Lyon a supermarket was adding a 30% surcharge to some products on Sundays, baby formula and diapers example, because it was one of the only places where you could buy them

they can try that but its illegal. in arizona power companies cant shut off your power in the summer even if you never pay because not having A/C causes thousands of deaths. we have court cases in the US, both in state and federal, saying that companies cannot withhold or use the necessities to survive as a profit tactic

no, all Walmart is going to do is monitor your cell phone signal so they know your shopping patterns. they know what you buy every week, so when you enter the store they can raise the price of what you buy. they know what you're likely to buy, so they can lower the price and timpt you with that as well
